Laura Nelkin’s Lolancha Shawl is knit with Manchelopis, an unspun yarn sourced from Spanish Manchega sheep. This yarn creates a fabric that is lofty, meltingly soft, and light: perfect for a winter shawl! Lolancha Shawl is boomerang shaped and starts at the tip. The left edge of the shawl has a textured slipped stitch that runs along the edge. The shawl is finished off with a border that utilizes this same stitch. There are tricks to working with this unique yarn, and the pattern includes a link to a video to teach you best practices!
Each kit contains one wheel of Manchelopis (100% Manchega wool) in the color of your choice, and the pattern for Lolancha Shawl which will make one shawl approximately 33” wide and 62” long. We will purchase a copy of Lolancha Shawl for you via Ravelry, so you will automatically receive both a printed copy and an emailed PDF. Please note that this kit does not include needles. You will need a US10 32” or longer circular needle (or size needed to achieve gauge). If you don't already have the appropriate needle at home, you can shop Spun's selection of circular needles here.
